Your Victorian Getaway Awaits
Our Story
-Welcome to the Bauer Haus-
You may be curious about the unusual spelling and its significance. "Bauer" is derived from the German surname, now Bergbower, meaning “big hill farmer,” and you are correct in assuming that "Haus" translates to "house" in English.
Shelah works on her family's third-generation grain farm located in Jasper County, Illinois. she keeps busy in the spring and fall in the planter and combine. Outside of her farming, Shelah enjoys spending time with her animals at home, and all sorts of crafts, weather it be woodworking, scrapbooking, or her newest endeavor of stain glass.
Shelah has always possessed a passion and eye for design and architecture. One of her lifelong dreams has been to own and renovate a Victorian-era home, making the Bauer Haus an ideal setting for her aspirations. We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay and take full advantage of everything Jasper County has to offer.
